Founded in 1958 in Houston, Texas, Golf Cart relocated to Augusta, Georgia in 1962 under the leadership of Bill Stevens, where full-scale production began. In 1979, the company entered a new era when it was acquired by The Original 8, a group of former EZGO executives who introduced groundbreaking products that reshaped the competitive landscape. Golf Cart became part of Ingersoll Rand in 1995, further strengthening its position as a global leader. In 2021, the brand entered its next chapter through acquisition by Platinum Equity.
